Set Limits
Configure monthly token limits for individual users and user roles.
Overview
Set monthly token limits to control AI usage costs and manage access. You can configure limits for individual users or set default limits for entire user roles.
Individual User Limits
Setting User Token Limits
- Open User Management: Click any user in the user table
- Configure LLM Tokens:
- Enter monthly limit in "Max Tokens Monthly" field
- Click "Save Changes" to apply
- Configure Search Tokens:
- Set limit in "Search Token Management" section
- Click "Save Search Token Limit" to apply
Managing Token Usage
- Reset Tokens: Clear monthly usage counter (preserves limits)
- Monitor Usage: Review consumption bars and percentages
- Track Cycles: Check last reset date for billing periods
Role-Based Token Limits
Setting Role Defaults
- Navigate to Role Permissions: Go Role Permissions (e.g. User Permissions)
- Set Token Limit: Click "Set Token Limit" button
- Enter Default Limit: Set the monthly token limit for this role
- Choose Application Method:
- New Users Only: Keep existing user limits, apply to new role members
- All Users: Override all current users' limits in this role
How Role Limits Work
- New User Assignment: When users join a role, they get the role's default limit
- Individual Override: Individual user limits take priority over role defaults
- Flexible Management: Mix role defaults with individual adjustments as needed
Token Types
LLM Tokens
- Purpose: AI conversations, text generation, analysis
- Usage: Varies by model complexity and request length
Search Tokens
- Purpose: Document search, knowledge queries, vector operations
- Usage: Based on search complexity and data volume
